i don't want to play it just because the dated graphics is a questionable pleasure to look at.

I had finished the game. Unfortunately I can't remember if I finished it after playing Syberia or not. :grat: I think it was a beautiful game but I hated that there weren't any subtitles, English is not my first language, so there where a lot of lines I didn't catch :/ The cutscenes and the graphics in general I thought were awesome. I do prefer 3rd person adventures but it was ok. The puzzles where quite easy except for the undersea one. I actually bought it for about 10 € by a magazine called PC MASTER, it's the biggest selling magazine about PCs and games in Hellas (Greece). I also bought Paradise for 6 € by the same magazine. And of course that magazine also gave Syberia 1 and 2. That's how I started playing Adventures!

Do the following to save a game:
"Press the "Esc" key during gameplay and you will be taken to the Main Menu. Select "Save'. Click on an available slot and your game will be saved in that slot. You will then return back to gameplay.

You may save over a saved game by clicking on the image of a previously saved game. Your new saved game will take it's place, and you will then return back to gameplay."

If you're wanting to play Amerzone and you have an iPad, the game is available on iStore for $2.99.

I guess I'm in the minority here, because I didn't like it. The graphics are dated, especially for the people and some of the animals. The puzzles were way too simplistic. The story was nothing more than a fetch quest. Gameplay was dragged out by having a lot of locations with nothing significant in them and no distinguishing visual features, so the player would be more likely to get lost while running around searching for something to pick up or something with which to interact. And except for a couple of truly creative creature designs that are barely seen, there's nothing pretty or interesting to look at in the whole game.

Syberia has some gorgeous architecture, captivating automatons, an interesting storyline, an appealing player character, and much better puzzles. About the only thing Amerzone had to recommend it was a few interesting creature designs (which does not include the white birds), good sound effects, and good music.

But I guess even Benoit Sokal had to walk before he could run.
