Syberia III annouced

Postby stone » Fri 17 Apr 2009 18:52

At first it seemed unbelievable. The news appeared on 1st April. Most thought it is just a joke. But still, there was a thin hope that maybe, maybe...
And today Microids officially announced that third part of the series will be created. And the one, the only - Benoît Sokal will be evolved.
When? As for now it is June 2010. Now it is hard time for all the fans, to have even more patients, and to wait for the next news.
And since it was announced officially, I think we could allow ourselves to open forum to Syberia 3.

Syberia 3 forum is now open

Just finished reading posting.php?mode=reply&f=40&t=1901
I never new sony is such a b*tch... I wonder how many good titles didn't make it onto console due to sony's appetite.
I hope PC version will still be released despite sony's decision. :stress:

I'm not quite sure I can put into words how pleased I am to see that we might learn the fate of Kate after the ending of Syberia 2. The first I learned of a sequel was from a games development website (I'm a student with aspirations of game design/development so I tend to visit these sorts of sites with regularity. Ironically I've just recently been playing through the first Syberia for a Narrative assignment and even though I won't be doing the second one due to time constraints I still ended up playing it again)...
Obviously the first mention I saw of a Syberia 3 gave me the impression that we might not see a Syberia 3 because of Sony' console business practices.

I despaired.

But this announcement gives me some hope, the series deserves another sequel. Especially in a world where everyone and their grandmother knows about first person shooters and all too little heed is paid to gameplay forms that are still deserving of attention.

I don't think Syberia III is going to be the last mammoth. ;) There sure will be more. This genre is great for mobile gaming (ipod, psp etc.). And many enthusiasts will sure keep it alive.

I hope for the best. :D

I agree...this game genre is far to popular and people crave for it...at least I do. But I prefer the PC versions

First of all i just wanna say.. it's good to see the old Syberia forum back up! brings back beautiful memories, although i don't even remember what username i had back in the day.. i just remember i was reading it alot (that was in 2005 or so).

Secondly, of course, i'm really excited to hear about a 3rd Syberia! (as i'm sure everyone in here is, hehe). I'm really curious about the storyline and it will be so refreshing to see Kate Walker in action once again. But i will miss Hans, Oscar and the train if they won't be around anymore.

I'm very excited about this game. I hope it completes the storyline.

Also, please let it come to Steam! That's where I prefer to buy my PC games.
