Yeah. "Coz nothing comes for freeeee"

And the moment you got problems with a "Linux" ware app..

You get. =>

"Stfu, it's free, no support for you, nerd"

"Read the forums, albavista, the net, complain to the pope, we not fixing ur probs, coz u didn't pay, ergo no support for u." And my favourite one -> "If u wanna fix ur probs, there are the source codes, learn programming, then start fixing" I mean......,,,,...,... come on.

Hi,

i'm playing Penumbra : Overture part 1 on Linux 64... :mrgreen:
i bought (16.80€ + 3.29€ VAT) & download the game (288 Mb) yesterday night.
It looks great and you can take objects like in the real life... :shock:
i just modified resolution from 800x600 to 1280x1024...
My version is English speaking only but i don't worry about that... sub-titles help a lot...

Thank you Niniendo to let us know about this game, this is my first Linux adventure "downloaded" game...

Yes, Pifou. I was also surprised by that. Your mouse pointer can pick up almost anything. I was very impressed by it. Congratulations on your first Linux adventure. :)

@doomer
I know what you mean. It's hard when companies that release anything on Linux treat it like charity work but that's just the way it is. A lot of stuff in Linux, especially the internal aspect, is D-I-Y and hence, that's the kind of kneejerk response you get. Hopefully, Linux users get treated with some respect and not like second class citizens (in comparison to Windows users) in the future but we are still very far from that. I make it a point to help out novice Linux users. It's the best end users can do to help (aside from programming).

Great...

(imo) Dreamfall is the best adventure game you can play after Syberia...

note : if you didn't play The Longest Journey before shelloz, you will have some problem to understand who is April Ryan... :D

NiniendoLeibowitz wrote:Tomb Raider Legend is a nice exploration game. Lots of mountain scaling and puzzle solving but it's not always a take it easy slow game. There are portions it pushes the action and there are plenty of enemies. My first Tomb Raider games are on Wii and I prefer the controls on Anniversary for Wii than Legend on Cube. I also played Underworld on Wii and although the game allows you to savour the moments, it's just real glitchy.

Hi, i'm playing Tomb Raider Legend on PC at the moment...
i must say 3D & Graphisms are really fabulous in "Next-Gen" mode... :shock:

but... keyboard controls are very different from previous opus like TR1 to 6...
Compared to before, i have some problems to align Lara to the right axis before jumping or to shoot to the right direction... :(

i guess i might be able to improve myself to this game...

Sounds like you're having problems using the mouse look. I'll be frank that the only experience I've got of Legends on the PC is through a demo, and that didn't play too good for me. The shooting parts are unnecessarily more complex, but I didn't have much problems on the jumping parts. Lara also has a mind of her own when jumping, so as long as you set her up right and you're jumping at where she's supposed to go, she'll handle things herself. The shooting part though is a bit of a challenge because you need to be able to aim properly. On the console games, aiming is done automatically. If the PC version had it, it may work out. Hope you can turn it on, somehow.

I enjoy those parts of the game to be honest, but I've played Legends on the GC... and I've not had any experience playing any TR games other than Legends, Anniversary, and Underworld.

you're very kind Niniendo thx... :wink:
i've played TR1, TR3 and TR6 (Angel of Darkness) and now playing TR7 (Legend)
Eidos changes from Core Design (original creators of TR) to Cristal Dynamics between TR6 & 7, and they change all keyboard controls !... :shock:
Anniversary seems to be a remake of TR1, while Underworld has been modified in order to mach console gamers...
if i have a good understanding of the situation --> i hope keyboard PC gamers will not be excluded in the future... :(

As far as I can tell, the PC controls aren't radically different to games like Splinter Cell, but I think the controls don't work that well for TR.

Anniversary is a remake/update of TR 1 and I really like it the best. It's an update of Legends and in my opinion, perfects the Crystal Dynamics game.

TR Underworld on Wii is interesting but it reduced 90% of the enemies from the regular TR Underworld. :shock: It's an interesting diversion, but it's not that good.

I see that they changed to Crystal Dyanmics from TR 6 to TR 7 (Legends?). I do not know how Core used to do TR though. I have no frame of reference on that. I just read that they almost killed TR themselves.

Thanks Pifou :D
Arttu was ill this week and I let him try Sinking Island. In two hours he was playing more than I did in two days. I felt kind of stupid :oops:
Well anyway, now I'll continue playing :)
