Syberia II was great, but...

Postby Dominick Fontana » Fri 21 Jan 2011 15:46

I just finished Syberia II and thought it was magnificent. I thoroughly enjoyed it, except for one thing. I though that the character Hans was obnoxious. I couldn't stand the guy. Plus, he wasn't very nice to Kate and it didn't make sense that she would like him and want so much to help him. If she did all that for Oscar, then that would make sense. Doing it for Hans was contrived.

The relationship between Kate and Oscar was engaging, but between Kate and Hans, it was forced. I basically liked every character in the game, even the bad guys and her boss, EXCEPT for Hans. I couldn't stand him and thought he was a little creep. That sort of skewered the plot line for me and I couldn't root for the guy because I disliked him.

Now I wait with great anticipation for Syberia III.

And that's the name of that tune.

I too preferred Oscar to Hans, but Hans was a lot better than the monastery patriarch or even than Ivan and Igor. Hans was much better than the occasionally helpful but occasionally obstructive monk with his constant, creepy snigger; that guy made my skin crawl.
