Whats about Syberia 3 -- let's make it!

Postby LITTLE RABBIT » Sat 10 Jun 2006 22:44

It's not good that Syberia project is stopped by Sokal :(
But we can make unofficial game contination ourselfe.
For example, I know C# and Delphi languages. Syberia original engine is commercial, so, I think, GLScene engine may be good solution for this project...
Whats about this idea? Who is courageous here? ;)

I can't imagine a Syberia 3...

I would love to play Syberia 3 LITTLE RABBIT,
But i'm not sure Mr Sokal will let someone to continue his story with his heroin...
I'm pretty sure there's a lot of copyrights that must be taken into consideration in such a situation...

Bye et see you

Last night I thought to make a 3D-model of Valadilene. Just start with a rought sketch and increase the details and textures later. The only problem are the dead angles but maybe I just make something up.

It would be a wonderful idea, even though I'd stick more to a spin-off game, like using Hans and seeing what he did and experienced before meeting with Kate.

I have some knowledge of C/C++ and somewhat worked with SDL years ago... I know Java too.

But well, this would be such a big job, which requires much time, much skill and many people. Backdrops, sprites, music, screenplay, dialogs, testing and so on... I sincerely don't believe it would come to an end easily :(

See all the fangames like unofficial Broken Sword 2.5 or King's Quest IX or Indiana Jones and Fountain of Youth... they've taken years of hard work and still we ain't got nothing but small demos.

Also, using Flash or Adventure Game Studio could facilitate lots of things, but I couldn't contribute since I'm using Linux and neither Flash nor AGS are available for Linux.

This is one of the dream-like things that usually require too much resources to become concrete, beyond MC2's copyrights and other legal issues possibly involved.

I'm not sure it is a good Idea to make a Syberia 3!
The Syberia story is end for me, but making a game with kate walker is a great idea.
I'm a programmer, and I am in Stage at Ubisoft in France since one month.
I can tell you that there is a lot of softwares for make games, but only some are really interesting.
If some people wanted to make a sequel to syberia story I'm here ;)

Exactley! Why don't people just make their own personal games?
'cause I haven't got space enough for a Syberia 50
